Kim Seagram
Kim Seagram is Co Owner and Co Developer of the award winning Stillwater Restaurant and Black Cow Bistro in Launceston. Kim’s passion to support local producers and build the Tasmanian Brand lead her to help found Harvest Launceston, Tasmania’s Community Farmers Market in 2011 where she currently sits as President. Prior to opening Stillwater in 2000, Kim and her husband developed and operated Launceston’s Ripples Cafe as well as Lalla Gully Vineyard in the Pipers River region of North-East Tasmania which they sold in 1998 to the Clover Hill/Taltarni group.
In 1997 Kim was elected to the Vineyards Association of Tasmania’s Committee of Management where she made a significant contribution to strategy and marketing development Statewide and Nationally over the following 10 years. She was on the working group to develop the National Wine Tourism Strategy and sat on the resulting Australian Wine Tourism Alliance. Kim was Deputy Chair of the Brand Tasmania Council for over 10 years and sat on the Board of the Launceston Chamber of Commerce. Sitting as a Director on the Tourism Tasmania Board for over 8 years she also chaired the Launceston Tamar and the North, Zone Marketing Group and served as Deputy Chair of the Northern Regional Reference Group for Economic Development.
Serving on the Industry Reference group for the Centre for Food Innovation, a collaboration between the University of Tasmania, the CSIRO and the DSTO, lead her on a journey with fellow group member Tom Lewis, driving the Fermentation Tasmania project for Northern Tasmania.
Prior to living in Tasmania, Kim held a number of positions in the Canadian Tourism Industry in operations, sales and promotion with the Fairmont Rocky Mountain Hotel and Resort Properties. Kim also has a BSC Honours in Biology from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada followed by work as a research assistant in Molecular Genetics.
